‘Don’t put pressure on wording of the question.’ – Diana Donaldson
During the tutorial Diana gave me a lot of new thoughts based on her own experience and perspective. Detailed feedback How to present a clear question to stakeholder? Rethink what other ‘bare bone’ I’m trying to research, stages of ‘HOW TO’ and investigation needs. Hints need to give idea.
What have I look in to to find answer for specific issue? (show on reflective statement)
- Clarify what the issue is and it hasn’t to be a problem! Also I need to show what I want to shift, change a view or an attitude in my project. What are the key areas I’m going to change.
- Cut down the waste in luxury events.
- Use innovative material in luxury events
- Raise Asian younger generation’s awareness
What is innovative material? (Not everyone understand what innovative is, needs clarification) INNOVATIVE MATERIAL: technology advance … (show in log separately)
Am I going to use it for my project? Or do i create one?
Due to the time limitation and other issue, the project might not need to aim for finding the solution. (show in log separately) It might be the case of rising of the awareness and working with the brand etc. What can I do in five weeks?
For young people I’m trying to impress and given an opportunity to repurpose these material.
Support these young people to make the way I want with the luxury brand to help. Create workshop, event etc (Depending what it is, might be able to make it two. Two intervention from different perspective for different stakeholder)
Diana shared her own experience on her pervious project, how to use two project to achieve 1+1>2 can these feeding to this. Who to look up to? Usually peers? eg. 15year old would look up to older people. Do the East Asian younger generation look up to their parents? or something else?
Adding extra element is important (eg. show self making film to a group of younger people) create something bigger by combine projects together. Do I want to design a new product? or do I want to repurpose the idea? There’s a huge different. Back to my own project, “How can innovative material used in luxury fashion events raise younger East Asian generation awareness towards a carbon neutral future?” Firstly, research and find out the latest materials using or used in luxury events production. Then, gather a group of younger East Asian generation to curate a workshop to create new items by using these materials. During the workshop/event i would introduce some of the harmful things for the environment and what can we do in to it to happen.
Be clear of my own positionally! What is my role in this project? How i get influenced by?
The process create the opportunities “Walking though life with eyes open” – Diana
Identify key ares, for that effect to create something definitely new (creating value!), Have other people done similar project? What’s the difference?
How to get feedback from process? (more desirable, can evidence it) (eg. they want to get money)
The case study: a CEO, they put together all the brands. It was well received, avenue
Work on immediately on ‘where’ and ‘when’. Workshop (using what? what brand (can they donate material equipment) who’s gonna be my target, where I will get access to them?) If i do something where i will do it (location).
OTHER PEOPLE’S PROJECT
Key problem not the action itself (eg. ski) Trying to get people back to the store (is about the retail) using case study ski relate to retail, experimental in store.
